Programme Overview


The Niji Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (NISA) Cassava Production training is designed for farmers, agribusiness practitioners, cooperative leaders, and youth eager to engage in profitable cassava cultivation. This module focuses on two core areas: Stem Multiplication and Tuber Production, with practical field-based training that empowers participants to scale production sustainably.

The programme equips participants with the knowledge and tools to become reliable producers of planting materials and high-yield cassava roots for industrial and commercial supply chains.

Learning Objectives & Benefits

Participants will:

1. Master practical stem multiplication techniques such as rapid multiplication and production of high-yield cassava stems for both commercial sales and your own farm operations.

2. Apply best agronomic practices for high-yield cassava tuber production, including land preparation, planting density, weed management, and integrated pest control.

3. Understand climate-smart farming methods and regenerative soil practices to boost productivity and sustainability.

4. Learn harvest and post-harvest handling techniques to reduce losses and maximize root quality.

5. Gain insight into the cassava supply chain and build linkages with processors, aggregators, and offtakers.

6. Develop actionable farm business plans and strategies for scaling cassava production enterprises.

7. Be introduced to NISA’s ecosystem and its commercial off-take opportunities via Niji Agro Services and other industrial buyers.

2010 – Niji Foods


Established in 2010, Niji Foods is dedicated to processing cassava into a variety of high-quality products, including odorless fufu flour, garri, yam flour, and cassava flour. Located in Oyo State, Nigeria, the company operates a state-of-the-art 50-ton-per-day cassava starch plant. Through an innovative out-grower scheme, Niji Foods actively supports local farmers, promoting sustainability and economic growth. Its hygienically packaged products are available both locally and internationally, ensuring quality and accessibility.

 

2010 – Niji Farms


Founded in 2010, Niji Farms is recognized as one of Africa’s largest and most mechanized cassava farms, boasting an impressive average yield of 35 tons per hectare. With over 4,000 acres of cultivated cassava plantations, Niji Farms is on an ambitious path to expand its operations to 10,000 acres through its groundbreaking Agricity project, aimed at revolutionizing agribusiness in the region.

 

2016 – Niji Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (NISA)


Established in 2016, NISA stands as Africa’s premier agribusiness institute, committed to empowering the continent through sustainable agricultural practices. 2016 – Niji-Lovol


In 2016, Niji-Lovol was formed through a strategic partnership between Niji Group and Lovol Heavy Industry, China’s leading agricultural machinery manufacturer. Specializing in assembling high-performance farm implements and tractors, Niji-Lovol produces both semi-knock-down (SKD) and complete-knock-down (CKD) tractors, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and accessibility for farmers across Africa.


2024 – Niji Feedmill


Niji Feedmill is a key division of Niji Group, dedicated to producing premium-quality animal feeds for poultry, fish, and livestock. By sourcing ingredients locally, the company enhances food security and promotes sustainable agriculture in Nigeria. 2002 – Ripples Hotel


Established in 2002 and located in the Oroki Housing Estate, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria, Ripples Hotel offers modern accommodations tailored for comfort and relaxation.
